I obtained a Social Science degree at the University of Teesside. I am interested in the issue of Power in society and how it impacts culture and relationships. When tutoring I like to enable the student to become more confident and better able to think for themselves about issues that impact them.

I worked as a tutor in Sociology at the University of Cape Town for 10 years, teaching a wide variety of undergraduate courses, from introductions in first year to 3rd year level courses in research methods. I have a Masters in Sociology and also received a First Class Honours.

I believe that I would be a great Sociology tutor simply because, from the onset, I was very intrigued by the course content of this subject. From the theories to the research aspects, I can correlate social issues with a broad range of social theories.
