René Descartes said "I think, therefore I am". And as a philosophy major, though not quite in the same spirit, I've repurposed the above into "I think I can do so, therefore I am capable of doing so!"
Growing up, I came to realise that thinking, and, therefore, learning differently doesn't necessarily mean that one can't do well. It's all a matter of finding what works for you. As someone who's had to go through this process, I am inclined to figuring out how one feels comfortable learning, subsequently using that information to make their interaction with a certain subject more intuitive.

French
Being from Mauritius, I had the opportunity to be surrounded by French my whole life. I chose to further study the language in high school, eventually scoring an A in A-level French, and thus, more than willing to help others achieve the same.
Mathematics
I have tutored high school level math in the past and I'm currently a math major at UCT.

Philosophy
I'm a Philosophy major at UCT and I'm passionate about the field. I've been able to do well in my first year philosophy classes and I'm willing to put my experience so far to the profit of those are venturing into the subject for the first year.

I believe that your first year creates the foundation for the rest of your years/modules to come, therefore I would like to help others to build a solid foundation in this subject
