Bio
Hi, my name is Brighid and I am a current college student. I’ve been tutoring for about 5 years. I mostly work with elementary and middle school students, but have also tutored high schoolers.
My teaching philosophy is to support students in their learning through hands-on, engaging curriculum. I like to make a plan with my tutee for our sessions together so students can give their input on what they need help with most. I am a kind, patient person who loves to learn and knows how difficult learning can be (even when you love it).

• Getting into college! I worked very hard to get into college and being accepted to almost every school I applied to, made me feel like it was all worth it!

Math
I have been tutoring in math for about 3 years now. I’ve mostly worked with elementary and middle school students, but have worked with high schoolers as well! Math is a tricky subject, but with the right attitude and some help, it can be a lot of fun!
Language Arts (English)
English is a very fun and engaging subject! I’ve tutored kindergarten students in phonetics and reading all the way through high school literature and writing!
AP History
I achieved a 4 or 5 on all of my AP History exams. AP courses are tricky but once you’ve learned how to write a quick essay like the DBQ, it’s just about learning the history.
Reading
I have taught reading skills from phonics and letters, to high school literature comprehension.
Algebra
Math is hard! But it doesn't need to be. I have been tutoring in math (especially algebra) for over 4 years. My teaching emphasizes comprehension of subject materials in order to be a successful student.
