I follow most sports and try to keep active by playing soccer and surfing. I am a big music lover and I play the saxophone. I enjoy watching movies and series, and reading novels when I have the time.
I have been a part of a wide range of sports teams throughout school. I played on both the First team Soccer and Basketball teams at High School. I also belonged to three bands, playing the alto saxophone. I am a social person and I enjoy interacting with people. I am also very patient and calm.
• I have just completed my first semester at UCT studying a Business Science degree majoring in Finance and Accounting. I attained a 79% average for my first semester.
• Playing First Team Soccer and Basketball and achieving a Colours award for both
• Achieving an Academic Merit Award in Matric, and then getting 7 As on my final Matric report (Straight As)
• Getting to perform at the Baxter Theater with my band
Accounting
I thoroughly enjoyed high school Accounting, to the extent that I am now studying Business Science at UCT majoring in Finance with Accounting.
Mathematics
I have enjoyed a natural affinity for Math throughout school. It is something that I have generally been able to make sense of and it is a subject that I enjoy. I have continued with it now in my first year of university.
Afrikaans
I grew up in an Afrikaans environment, with both my parents speaking Afrikaans as a 1st or 2nd language, as well as many of my family members. I therefore found Afrikaans to be one of my 'easiest' subjects at school.
Physical Science
Of all the subjects I did at high school, I struggled the most with Physics. Through perseverance and hard work however, I managed to receive a distinction for it in my Matric final examinations.
English
English has always been a subject that I've always been fond of, especially the literature aspect. I generally always received a B for English, but I worked hard and managed to receive an A for it as my final Matric result.
History
I have always and still do, have a great passion for History. It was definitely one of my favourite subjects at school, and I achieved an A+ for it in Matric. I therefore am confident in tutoring this subject at this level.
Study skills
Throughout school, I learned and tried out various techniques of studying. I believe that its not the amount of hours that you put in studying, but the manner in which you study. Learning how to study correctly, can benefit any learner immensely.
Economic Management Science (EMS)
EMS is only taught until grade 9, and it then progresses to Accounting at Westerford. I feel confident in tutoring this subject, especially the Accounting aspect of it. I received an A+ for Accounting in Matric.
Financial Accounting
I completed both Financial Accounting (ACC1006) and Financial Reporting (ACC2011) and achieved a First for both. I am majoring in Accounting.
Mathematics
Mathematics is something that I've always enjoyed, and have a natural aptitude in. It is also something that I am confident that I can tutor.
Microeconomics
Economics (ECO1010) is a course which I did relatively well in and thoroughly enjoyed.
Macro Economics
Macro-economics (ECO1011) was quite a challenging course, but it is something that I understood well (even though my mark might not reflect it). I took it through to my second year courses too.
