I am a responsible and motivated final year medical student with a passion for living a healthy and balanced life. I have had experience with children of all ages and am passionate about education.
I am a very approachable person who is always eager to help others reach their full potential. I excelled academically in high school, was a member of the prefect body and participated in sports and therefore understand the pressures of an all-rounded school environment. I also worked at a school in Oxford, where I grew confident in teaching young children.
• 2011: matriculated from Herschel Girls' School with 8 distinctions.
• 2012: worked at a junior school in Oxford.
• 2013 - current: studying MBChB at Stellenbosch University.
• Being elected as a prefect.
• Awarded the Sportsmanship and Fellowship Trophy.
• Being selected to study Medicine.
Being a member of the top Maths set, a participant in the UCT Maths competitions and many olympiads throughout high school, I excelled in this subject.
I did Drama as a subject at school, participated in school plays and directed many of our House Plays. Studying this subject really increased my confidence throughout my high school years. I achieved 5th place in the province for NSC.
Life Sciences (Biology)
Biology is a very relevant subject in my current Medical degree. It is a subject that, at school, requires a lot of time and dedication, of which I am willing to give to students. It is a subject I am greatly passionate about.
I excelled at English in school. It is my home language and I was also the assistant English teacher at a school I worked at on my gap year for Grade 4 and 5 students.
Physical Science was always challenging, however it was because of my teacher that I grew to love it. I preferred Chemistry to Physics, however I excelled in both. I took science to Matric and also had to do Chemistry in first year at university.

“Kate is very patient and pleasant with my daughter when teaching the principles that need to be grasped for a successful outcome of understanding and application.”
