Afrikaans
I speak Afrikaans on a daily basis as most of my occupational therapy clients are Afrikaans speaking. I really enjoy languages. Afrikaans is a struggle for many children to learn and I would like to help those who are struggling to achieve better results.
Accounting
I really enjoyed doing Accounting at school and making things balance. I also did a Business Management course for a full year during my undergraduate studies.
Life Sciences (Biology)
I did Biology as a Higher Grade Matric subject. I completed 2 years of Anatomy and Physiology courses at UCT during my undergraduate studies.
Homework
As an occupational therapist I assist children with organisation, study skills, planning etc. I enjoy working one-on-one with children and assisting them in achieving their potential, especially helping them to succeed with their homework tasks.
English
I really enjoy English as a language- reading, poetry, writing etc. I completed English as a higher grade, first language subject for Matric. I am currently completing additional English courses as part of my postgraduate studies.
Mathematics
I have tutored Mathematics to many primary school children. I enjoy assisting them with learning various Mathematical concepts and helping them to practice these concepts in order to gain more confidence.
Life Orientation
I took Life Orientation as a subject until Matric (even though we didn't write a final exam on this subject). I have experience running life skills/life orientation groups for school children as an occupational therapist.
Exam Preparation
As an occupational therapist I have run many study groups. I enjoy helping children prepare for exams by assisting them with revising their various subjects, working through examples and helping them to feel more confident in their abilities before the exams.
Physical Science
Physical Science is an interesting subject as you learn about how things around you work. It is a subject which gets easier with practice and can then become much more enjoyable. I have assisted a few learners previously with Science.
Natural Science
I took Biology and Science as Higher Grade Matric school subjects. I then took Anatomy and Physiology for two years as university subjects. This broad knowledge base means that I am well equipped to assist students who are taking Natural Science as a subject.
Economic Management Science (EMS)
I took accounting as a Matric school subject, for which I received an A aggregate. I then took Business Management as a full year course at University as one of my subjects. I feel that this gives me a good foundation to assist students with EMS.
Foundation Phase- Literacy
I work with Foundation Phase (Grade 0-3) children on a daily basis in occupational therapy; assisting with formations, writing etc. I enjoy assisting them in achieving the foundational skills necessary to thrive academically. I am in the process of qualifying as a teacher for grade 0-3.

Social Science
I have experience tutoring primary school children in Social Sciences. South African history and Educational history has formed part of my postgraduate studies that I am currently completing.
Afrikaans
I enjoy both learning and teaching languages. Afrikaans is a language that I did well at as a Matric subject and I make use of it in everyday interactions with my occupational therapy clients.
English
I enjoy both learning and teaching languages. I took English as a First Language Matric subject and I make use of it in everyday interactions with people as well as in all my written communication. I am currently completing English subjects as part of my postgraduate qualification.
TEFL
I have completed a 150 hour master TEFL course. I have helped clients from various countries with learning English as a foreign language.
Conversational English
I have experience working with various clients from overseas, assisting them with improving their conversational English. It is very enjoyable for me.
