I'm a home-schooling mother, passionate about developing the love of learning in learners of all ages, incl postgraduates. I tutor a wide range of subjects but my heart lies with teaching mathematics.
I am extremely patient and have a way of explaining complex issues simply. I am able to use multiple methods (including hands-on) to explain mathematics so that it is understood and applied. I am able to link concepts and apply critical thinking across subjects and assist learners in thinking critically about their work and the work of others.

Mathematics
I am home schooling my children (gr 2-7, all subjects), using Cambridge Curriculum and PR1ME Mathematics. Taught gr7-9 Mathematics. I am passionate about maths as a subject and helping learners to realise that 'anyone can do maths' as long as it has been explained in a way that they understand.
English
I home schooled my children (grade 2-7) in all subjects. Communication in English and the enjoyment of English is essential for all subject disciplines. It is essential for post graduate studies and research to articulate questions/aims/problems, results and solutions clearly.
Afrikaans
I home schooled my children grade 2-7 using the Cambridge curriculum. Enjoying Afrikaans as a second language is my focus.

Biology
I have a PhD in Entomology, with two post doctorates. Some of my research is published. I enjoy the process of formulating a problem and experimentally solving it. Excellent English language and composition skills are required to write up research findings for conferences and publication.
Critical Thinking
Completing a PhD requires critical thinking: how to formulate your problem accurately and succinctly, how to design experiments to test hypotheses and how to clearly and carefully write up your results.
