Bio

I am an avid reader, who enjoys reading up on new things and trying to incorporate it into everyday life. I believe in living a balanced life, where work or study is just as important as rest.

I studied foundation phase education which equipped me with some of the necessary skills to help others. I also tutored Grade 1 and 2 children for a year. I am a final year occupational therapy student, which I believe enables me to help younger students and learners. I am friendly, patient and will try to teach the same concept in as many ways as I can think of to help the learner understand.

Education

• 2015 - First year of foundation phase education studies.
• 2016-2019 - I decided to switch to occupational therapy (instead of becoming an educational psychologist) so I'm currently in my final year.

My Proudest
Achievements

• I won an ATKV national prize for an Afrikaans essay I wrote in Grade 11.
• At the end of my first year of studying foundation phase education, I had 15 distinctions of out 16 subjects.
• I got into the occupational therapy course the first time I applied.

Subjects

  • School Tutoring

Afrikaans

Grade 1 - Grade 12

Afrikaans is my home language and I have a big passion for the language. I also think it is a very big benefit to be able to speak more than one language. I speak Afrikaans in my everyday life and I believe that I will be able to assist your child.

English

Grade 1 - Grade 12

I am an avid reader and firmly believe that this helped and improved my English, as I am an Afrikaans student who took English home language. Languages are one of my passions and I would love to help other students achieve success as well.

Life Sciences (Biology)

Grade 1 - Grade 12

Biology was one of my favourite subjects at school, and played a big role in making my decision on what I want to study after school. I have carried all the knowledge from biology over to university where I had subjects like anatomy and physiology.

Business Studies

Grade 1 - Grade 10

The most important skill I learned from business studies was to understand the work first before studying it. I enjoyed this subject as it was a straightforward subject that equipped me with important skills for adulthood.

Mathematics

Grade 1 - Grade 10

I had mathematics as a subject until I matriculated and have found that with additional exercises, my marks increased. It can be a difficult subject for students, and I feel that I can help with additional explanations and exercises to help them.

Foundation Phase- Literacy

Grade 1 - Grade 7

I have completed a year of foundation phase studies, so I have knowledge on how to teach literacy to foundation phase learners. My occupational therapy coursework will also assist me to teach these young learners.

Foundation Phase- Numeracy

Grade 1 - Grade 7

I have gained knowledge from my first year of foundation phase studies. My occupational therapy studies also equip me with the necessary knowledge to teach numeracy to these young learners.
