Algebra

I can help students understand linear equations, expressions, functions, and how to solve for variable x. I will use different strategies to help students think critically and master algebraic problems.

Anatomy

Through my passion for anatomy and physiology, I can help students understand how the human body works as a system of many systems. My experience with college anatomy as a health major is beneficial in teaching how the digestive, circulatory, respiratory and all other systems work.

Chemistry

I can teach topics related to acids and bases, atomic structure, the periodic table, chemical bonds and the many chemical reactions. I can also focus on harder topics like stoichiometry and kinetic molecular theory.

Organic Chemistry

Experienced in topics of stereochemistry, all the different functional groups, structures and bonding as well as elimination reactions. I will use many different examples and problem sets to help students practice performing these chemical reactions.

Mandarin Chinese

As a native speaker of Mandarin Chinese, I am able to teach proper pronounciation and grammar of Chinese. I also have two semesters of experience in college-level Chinese. I can help students memorize Chinese characters, translate sentences and prepare for any oral and written exams.

Physics

Physics can be confusing, but with the proper review of concepts such as Newton's Laws of Motions, vectors and projectiles, work and energy and all the different physics formulas, it will be much easier to ace exams. I will teach key strategies like understanding motion graphs and kinematics.

Calculus

I can help students understand limits and continuity, the behavior of different functions, differential equations and the application of derivatives. While all that sounds like a mouthful, the key is to make graphs and charts to organize what you are looking for within equations.

Pre-calculus

In preparation for Calculus, it is important to establish a strong foundation in Pre-calculus. I can teach important topics related to polynomials and trigonometric functions. I can also explain in detail, system of equations and other concepts commonly covered in exams.

Geometry

I can help students understand the different 2-3 dimensional shapes and how to determine congruence and similarity between them. The key is to stay organized and visualize the different formulas for area and volume especially when writing geometric proofs!

Trigonometry

Trigonometry is crucial for understanding Calculus and other core mathematics further down the line. I can teach concepts related to SOHCAHTOA (trig functions), right triangles, trigonometric identities and special angles . I can also teach different graphs of sin(x), cos(x), and tan(x).

Biology

I can help students understand different topics such as photosynthesis, the carbon cycle, the organelles within prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells and more. Some of the best strategies while studying biology are to visualize concepts through diagram and charts.
