Bio

I'm an aspiring Robotics and AI researcher pursuing a PhD at University College London in the UK. I enjoy teaching and helping others learn in my spare time.

My memory is not great. As such, I could only succeed at university by truly understanding the principles and intuition behind the subject matter. Especially since the cramming method did not work for me. As a side-effect, I can make intuitive explanations for what I've learnt, which potentially makes me a more effective tutor.

Education

• 2013 - 2016 - B.Sc (Honours with Distinctions) - Computational and Applied Mathematics (University of the Witwatersrand)
• 2017 - M.Sc - Computer Science (University of the Witwatersrand)

My Proudest
Achievements

• 6 Distinctions in Grade 12 (2012)
• Golden Key International Honour Society Membership (A society of individuals who achieved top 15% in their respective universities)
• Dean's List Status for the year 2013

  • University Tutoring

Computer Programming

First Year - Third Year

One of my majors is Computer Science which in itself is a programming course. I have a firm understanding of all concepts 3rd year and below.

Physics

First Year - Second Year (Physics Major Bsc)

I studied physics up to 2nd year and for most people the "F" in physics stands for fun, this doesn't apply to me. I simply enjoy it.

Applied Mathematics

First Year - Third Year

I can tutor this subject at this level because I have a firm understanding of all basic concepts including differential equations, linear programming, solving for systems of linear and non-linear ODE's and mechanics.

Mathematics

First Year - Third Year (Maths Major Bsc)

2nd year Maths is more theoretical than practical and I spent a lot of time learning methods of proofs which have helped me survive that level.

Artificial Intelligence

First Year - Fourth Year COMS4033

I'm currently a Masters student and AI is my field of research. I understand basic concepts as well as state of the art techniques in the field. I also read recently published papers on various topics around this subject.

Computer science

First Year - Third Year

One of my majors is Computer Science which in itself is a programming course. I have a firm understanding of all concepts 3rd year and below.

  • School Tutoring

Physical Science

Grade 1 - Grade 12

I chose this subject in grade 10 and carried on with it purely out the love I have for it; studying it became a hobby instead of an obligation. I still help learners in high school with the subject on Saturdays.

Mathematics

Grade 1 - Grade 12

I encounter Maths in all the subjects I study at University (Applied maths, Computer Science, Group Theory, Linear Algebra, Basic Analysis, Multivariable Calculus).

Advanced Mathematics

Grade 1 - Grade 12 Wits(Maths Major )

Maths has always been my favorite subject in and out of high school and I take pride in assisting others.

CAT

Grade 1 - Grade 12

I studying a masters in Artificial Intelligence and I have done Computer Programming, Computer Sciences is one of my majors and I have a firm understanding of CAT as its the foundation of everything that I have taken future into my studies.

Reviews from others

“He was very thorough in his teaching and takes his tutoring seriously. Quintin could understand his explanations well. Practically, Quintin mentioned that the only thing he could suggest that he improve on, is to start each new concept on a new page when he explains.”
