As a natural teacher, I love the look on someone’s face when they finally grasp a concept. I am an avid student of literature, language and culture who has been bitten by the travel bug.
I am the oldest of four sisters - my little sisters range in age from 11 to 22. I, therefore, know that I am skilled at helping those younger than me. I was a Prefect in High School and organized cultural events. But more importantly, it is my heart for others that makes me great at being helpful. I have volunteered at childcare organizations in South Africa, Swaziland and Lesotho.

Linguistics
I majored in General Linguistics and graduated with a distinction. I am passionate about languages and how language shaped our experiences in and of the world.
English Literature
I did both English and AP English at matric level and continued with English throughout my undergraduate studies. I then did my Masters in English Literature and published an academic article.
History
I won the award for the top History student in matric. I see History as a story that differs depending on who is doing the storytelling. I can offer clear explanations of historical events and how the effects of these events are still felt today.
Drama
I took drama from Grade 10 to matric and matriculated with a distinction for this subject, as well as receiving the prize for the top dramatic arts student at my high school. Theory is my strong point, but I can help with the practical aspect too.
Art
I have taught Grade 8 and 9 IEB art. In addition to taking NSC Visual Arts until matric, I also helped my sister prepare for her final IEB art exam in 2018. I believe that people underestimate just how interesting art history can be and I would love to help foster an appreciation for art.
Life Orientation
Life Orientation is often regarded as boring and useless, when in fact it has relevance in the 'real world'. I would like to highlight this relevance to those I tutor.
English
I am a qualified English teacher. I received a distinction for English in matric, studied English during my undergraduate degree and got a cum laude for an MA in English Studies. I am passionate about English literature, and I know some great tips and tricks for essay writing and comprehension.

After completing an MA in English Studies, I decided to become an English teacher. I am now a qualified English teacher and have worked at a school in the past. I also have my TEFL qualification.
