I'm a college student that aims to become a teacher in STEM for students in socio-economically disadvantaged areas, and I want to build up my skills in teaching through the experiences in tutoring.
I'm a very patient and sociable with people. I try to explain things in a variety of ways to really sink concepts in, and I make sure I check in with people as to not lose them along the way.
• I'm currently a Physics Major student at UCLA. I've taken time away due to financial reasons, but I plan to return in the Fall Semester to resume my undergraduate coursework.
• AP Scholar w/ Distinction (Granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams)
• Admission into Johns Hopkins University, UC Berkeley, and UCLA.
Calculus
I'm a Physics and Applied Mathematics major, and I've finished my calculus sequence with a B or higher in university level courses. I've privately tutored AP Calculus in my first year of college, and I have experience teaching the subject to struggling students in after-class sessions.
SAT
I prepped for the SAT extensively when in high school, so I know the exam like the back of my hand. I helped classmates of mine prepare for the exam, and I have plenty of resources for test prep to be as confident as possible to reach the desired score a student desires.
AP US History
I scored a 5 on the AP exam for U.S History, and I frequently scored perfects on the multiple choice section on practice exams for the exam. I still have resources from then, including strategies to FRQs and and DBQs, that are invaluable to a student aiming for a top score.
Writing
On top of scoring a 4 and 3 on the AP English Language and AP English Literature exams respectively, I've aced my classes in college focusing intensively on writing composition. I know what areas to focus on to improve the writing ability of students, and the benefits of being a better writer.
