I have completed various postgraduate degrees in music performance and also completed two years of music theory classes at university level. This is in addition to my ABRSM exams, which I completed to a Gr.7 level.
I completed my Grade 6 Piano Theory exam in 2014 and achieved a Merit. I thoroughly enjoy this subject as it enables you to see the technical side of music, whilst still enjoying yourself.
I have played the cello for 15 years and did music as a subject at school. I can play Cello at an intermediate level. I have taken private Cello lessons for ~15 years as well, so I am familiar with teaching styles and techniques as well.
With 15 years of experience, I can teach all subjects related to music performance and theory including aural training ear training, and music history up to Master’s Degree level.
Theory of music starts from pre-grade 1 in UNISA but due to my progress, I managed to skip pre-grade 1 and go straight to grade 1. I learnt Theory of music for 1 year and it remains embedded in my mind, therefore I would like to share it.
I did not do music in school, however, I have been playing piano for 13 years, and 5 other sub-instruments. I studied via UNISA throughout school and perfectly capable of tutoring/teaching at a school level (from beginners to intermediate).
