I have completed the Grade 6 ABRSM music theory exam, and took music theory until 2nd year at University as part of my music degree.

Having completed three years of undergraduate level psychology at University we covered a wide range of topics including social and critical psychology, development of children and adults across the lifespan, and abnormal psychology.

I achieved a distinction for English in matric, and while not studying it further, I have both an Honours and Masters level original dissertation. Furthermore, I have tutored university students in academic writing and reviewed/edited their work.

As stipulated by the national curriculum I took Life orientation until Matric. My university level study of psychology will aid in the tutoring off this subject.

Having taken business studies as a matric subject, I achieved distinctions in this subject all through high school.

I have completed grade 7 ABRSM exam, passed with distinction, yet also specialised in flute at University as part of my music degree.

Piano is my second instrument - I myself am currently at a grade 6 level and am currently teaching beginner piano to students at Uplands.

With aural training experience until 2nd year University level, I am proficient in sight-singing, singing back melodies, rhythm training etc. and have experience in training music students in this ability.

I am proficient in playing chords on the piano, which is my understanding of contemporary piano, and am therefore able to help tutor in this regard.
