English

I major in English at university, and have helped put together an English and LO syllabus for grade 8 and 9 for SHAWCO educational outreach. I have a good knowledge of grammar, am well-read, and can help with anything from public speaking to essays.

Life Sciences (Biology)

I thoroughly enjoyed Bio in school, and grew adept at summarising the large amounts of information.

Physical Science

Physics was one my favourite subjects in school, and the fact that I struggled with it meant that I learned how to break down the subject matter in order to make it easier for myself to understand, and I achieved 85% for it in Matric.

French

I studied French throughout highschool and up to a second year level in University, and spent time in France in 2014.

Study skills

I have tutored pupils from Grades 3 upwards how to look at work they have to do, break it down into sections, make a study timetable, and then how to use that time effectively.

Mathematics

This year I have worked to put together a Maths syllabus for an outreach program for Grades 8 and 9, so I am well versed in the subject matter and how to teach it.

English Literature

I have taken English courses my whole university career, and know the ins and out of the theory and schools of thought well, and am well versed in academic writing.

Piano (Classical)

I played piano all through school, learning performance and basic theory.

Hockey

I played hockey for the first team in both senior primary and high school, but although I enjoy the sport, I was never competitive in it. I prefer to teach up to grade 5, where the concentration is basic ball skills and positioning.
