Bio
I am an avid reader, exuberant and energetic and love interacting with people, especially children and the elderly.
I am studying Speech-Language Pathology. I chose to study this course because I love people, and I want to understand how people with disabilities feel and how to help. Every day I see people of all ages embarrassed about their disability or disorder. I want those people to know that they have a voice and should be empowered instead of ashamed. I also helped raise my sister when my mother was ill.

Achievements
• Helping a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder learn to read through language and literacy therapy to enable him to function in his environment and make friends. Volunteering at an orphanage to help take care of the children. Building strong relationships with my grandparents.

English
I am proficient in English and had distinctions throughout school as well as University. I tutored English during 2016 and 2018 to younger children. I love to instill the love of the language in children so that they may be motivated to learn.
Afrikaans
I did well in Afrikaans at school and would love to teach Afrikaans to second language learners, as I have tutored children from grade 1 to 7 in both second and first language during 2018.
History
I received the best mark in the district for History when I matriculated. I received 76% for History 110 in university. I often helped my fellow peers in understanding the essays and source-based work - I am able to explain both concepts well.
Life Sciences (Biology)
I enjoyed Life Sciences in high school. I believe in understanding the work provided instead of learning things off by heart. I also have additional understanding of human anatomy and physiology as I have had both subjects at university.
Mathematics
I tutored Mathematics at Kip McGrath Sinoville, and due to my Speech Therapy skills I've discovered how to explain Maths to children in a way that they can understand. I love working with younger children to improve their Mathematics.

I've taken psychology as a core module for my Speech Language Pathology degree, but have come to enjoy it and often helped friends in understanding the work.
English Literature
I received distinctions for both ENG 110 and ENG 120 at the University of Pretoria. I have a solid grasp of explaining the university method of thinking as well as how to formulate essays and improve critical thinking.
