Bio
I am an internationally experienced (29 years professional) musician, composer, performer and piano teacher. I have acquired experience that very few South African professional musicians have.
I am an experienced teacher, having moved from Cape Town I had to relinquish 35 students to permanently move to Johannesburg. My schedule is filling up, and available spaces are becoming less. Learners will gain a balanced, well-rounded music education including ear training, sight-reading, history, and piano performance in various genres. e.g. Classical, jazz, etc. I take a theoretical approach.
Education
• Piano Teacher - Neil Solomon (Senior Piano Lecturer UCT) Teaching Diploma - studied with June Keeves.
• I teach the ABRSM Syllabus with learners gaining Distinctions in both Practical and Theory exams.

• I have worked with musicians from all over the world and have worked in recording studios, theatre and live band/solo performances.

Digital Piano
I have 28 years of experience with sequencing, mixing, producing. I am proficient in Logic (Mac-based). I have been a professional musician for that many years and have abundant experience in mixing live sound. I know how to write with Finale.
Music Theory
As a composer, my first love is music theory. I have an intricate understanding of this particular area of music. I am a professional musician with 28 or so years experience and prefer to teach the ABRSM syllabus. I have been teaching since 2012.
Piano (Jazz)
ABRSM Grades only go up to Grade 5 on this subject. I will teach you about the movement of harmony, voice-leading, the vital circle of 5ths, and melodic improvisation. Essentially giving you the core tools to express your individual musicality.
