I am a teacher at heart, having spent 43 years in classrooms in both South Africa and the United States. More recently I have been tutoring young people on an individual basis and loving it.
I am very patient and understanding. I always try to discover what each individual's learning style is and in that way, my approach to teaching is very focussed and relevant. I love sharing my interest in my subjects and seem to have the ability to inspire others to also enjoy learning. Helping young people to feel positive about their own ability is my strength. Honesty is crucial.

Grade 1 - Grade 12 IEB, NSCI have taught high school History for over 20 years and I have inspired thousands of young people to love and excel in the subject. I have taught at IEB schools and schools that write NSC.I specialise in supervising research and writing.
English
Grade 1 - Grade 7 NSC, CAPSI am a qualified teacher. I have had the joy of working with young people of all ages. My passion is for teaching critical thinking and self-expression. Helping younger children find the fun in learning to read and write is what I strive for.
Mathematics
Grade 1 - Grade 5My years of experience in teaching embodies patience and building trust. Children learn from engaging actively and creatively in the learning process. Play is essential.
Homework
Grade 1 - Grade 12I have supervised learners of all ages both at home or in boarding schools: during night prep time or on Sundays when weekly boarders return. I am a specific subject expert but I have assisted with planning, organisation and research in general.
Study skills
Grade 1 - Grade 11 NSCI offer support in enhancing study skills, drawing from my tutoring experience. Whether organizing notes, developing effective study strategies, or mastering time management, I provide tailored guidance to help students excel academically.

Latin
Beginner - AdvancedI majored in Latin at the University of Cape Town and then taught Latin at high schools in South Africa up to Grade 12 level for 12 years and in Philadelphia in the USA for 5 years. I have taught all components of the language: Literature, Language/Grammar and Translation.

Carol, shows patience in dealing with Morgan, which clearly shows Morgan is comfortable with Carol, which is key in learning. Relaxed environment and patience is important for any child to thrive. Carol is innovative, in the way she approaches teaching with Morgan, and always comes up with new ideas to be able absorb material she may have difficulty in.
