Chemistry
Chemistry has so far been my favorite class at UNC. Although the material is challenging, I loved the format of the class and learned that the best way to study for chemistry is by doing practice problems!
Math
I took math courses up through my senior year of high school. I feel extremely grateful because although the classes at my high school were challenging, they were engaging and taught me crucial critical thinking skills. These skills prepared me to be successful in any future courses!
Language Arts (English)
I have taken English classes every year up through my freshman year at UNC. These courses have taught me valuable writing and reading skills while fostering a love for literature.
Biology
I took Bio 101 in my first semester at UNC and loved it! Through the class I picked up numerous learning and study strategies because there were numerous peer mentors that held study sessions. This class helped me to learn the best study strategies for high level STEM classes.
Calculus
Calculus was an extremely impactful class for me in my senior year of high school. My teacher, Mr. Brown, was kind and patient, making a challenging class engaging and fun. Through Mr. Brown, I learned that anybody can be successful at Calculus if they put in the work.
Psychology
I took a PSYC 101 course at UNC. In this course, I also participated in a study group led by a tutor. This helped me learn how best to organize information and taught me active learning strategies that helped cement my knowledge.
