About Jackie

The analysis of texts is one of my great pleasures. I have experience reading many genres of texts including 19th-century works, classics, poetry, short stories, non-fiction work, and more. Reading for specific purposes like the theme, character development, and more are well within my wheelhouse.

About Natalie

I have both volunteered and completed an internship at the Boys and Girls Club where I worked with elementary students. I tutored them with their homework and helped them improve their reading skills.

About Kayla

Reading is a passion of mine. I earned my Bachelors in English and my Masters in Teaching. I enjoy teaching reading at any grade level. I have fun and easy ways for students who struggle in this subject. I will provide support and basic skills needed in reading that will boost academic performance.

About Bennett

I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy. I have an undergraduate degree in exercise science with a minor in gerontology and a doctoral degree in Physical Therapy, both from Slippery Rock University. I am passionate about helping students in all areas of study, especially in the sciences and English.

About Catherine

I have a Bachelors degree in Theatre which requires a high level of reading comprehension. I've read and analyzed many modern and classical works, including Shakespeare. I love reading and hope I can help others enjoy literature too!

Throughout school, I have been in various different classes that have all shared unique ways to improve reading skills. My ACT reading score was 35.

I have been a tutor for young children for years, and I’m also a middle school teacher. I’m exciting to help students succeed in achieving grade-level reading.

As with writing, I have read over 50 books in my time at UVA, and passed all of my AP writing focused classes in the A range, giving me an ample grasp of reading and what it takes to foster a positive and fruitful reading experience.

I have a passion for reading, and combined with excelling in both AP English Language and Composition and AP English Literature and Composition in high school, I am confident I can pass my skills on to others.

About Alicia

Taking the highest level English courses in my school and excelling in Johns Hopkins Writing Programs has perfected my reading and writing skills. I have experience with nonfiction reading (Regeneron semifinalist) and literary analysis in several AP classes. I have also mastered creative writing.
