I like to first relate to a student and their interests so if possible I can come up with more understandable metaphors and examples regarding the subject matter. Biology needs to be understood so I love to interact and converse as much as possible.

I took Bio 101 in my first semester at UNC and loved it! Through the class I picked up numerous learning and study strategies because there were numerous peer mentors that held study sessions. This class helped me to learn the best study strategies for high level STEM classes.

I have many years of experience as a tutor, both as an undergraduate tutor and a classroom teacher. During college, I tutored individually and in group settings. As a classroom teacher, I led instructional groupings of all levels to increase student success.
