I believe that there is huge value in quality education and really enjoy being a part of making that happen. I am currently studying towards my high school teaching qualification.
In my final year of high school I was elected as a Student Leader as well as the Students for Social Justice coordinator- an organisation created by two students the previous year in order to provide students a place at Cedar House High School, students who would normally not be afforded such opportunity due to their socio-economic circumstances.
• 2013 - 2015: Developed and facilitated holiday and life skills programmes within the Children’s Project (Wola Nani).
•
• 2015 – 2016: Lead a team in raising funds on a weekly basis (Haven Night Shelter).
• To this day I continue to be a part of the SSJ. I hold my relationships with the students very close and value the difference that I have made in their lives and the way in which these relationships have shaped me as a person.
•
• I also achieved a scholarship to Wits for high academic achievement.
English
I absolutely love English especially analysing texts, from novels to poetry. In addition to 86% I achieved 84% in Advanced Programme English.
Life Orientation
I have a passion for social as well as environmental issues. I feel that Life Orientation allows young people to tackle these issues while remaining mindful to the importance of our own well-being.
Drama
From a young age Dramatic Arts allowed me to step outside of my comfort zone, I believe this is great for children of all ages. I also have a huge interest in Drama Theory, such as the history of Theatre and Performance Art.
History
I enjoy History because it is one of the most important subjects when developing the academic mind and one's own capacity to think deeply and critically, due to its inclusion of SA's social issues as well as issues within a global context.
Art
I personally work with photography as a medium, as well as have a great understanding of and appreciation for art theory.
