Bio
I am kind, patient and encouraging with students, using an individual approach with each student. Students deserve to understand learning material and to have confidence, and that is my goal.
Even when others have given up, I feel it is my personal responsibility when I take on a student, to help them to understand, and improve their performance. Like the Grade 12 girl who had failed Matric twice, and whom I assisted to pass her 3rd rewrite. Or the Grade 1 girl who passed the year despite having a mental disability. I have great compassion for my students, and want them to succeed.
Education
• After a basic Cambridge education, I worked, and later educated my daughter at home. Then I began offering tutoring services by word of mouth. I have now been tutoring for 10 years.
My Proudest
Achievements
• Undoubtedly my proudest achievement is home educating my daughter, who is now a wise, able and confident young woman. I also treasure the times when a parent sends me a message thanking me for my assistance, and stating that their child's improvement is due to my assistance.

Mathematics
I have been tutoring Math to school students for 10 years. Students often lack confidence in Math when they struggle to understand mathematical concepts. I explain the information in a way that is understood by the student, reinforced with lots of examples/repetition, leading to confidence.
English
I have been tutoring English literature, language and grammar to school students for 10 years. I teach students to express themselves clearly and accurately, and to be confident in literature interpretation and essay writing . I also teach phonics and reading/writing for younger students.
Afrikaans
I have been tutoring Afrikaans as a second language to school students for 10 years, including literature, language and grammar. Comprehension and correct pronunciation are also important to master Afrikaans, and form the base of all of my Afrikaans lessons.
