I am passionate about teaching isiZulu.
I have been a language practitioner and tutor for over 15 years. I’m excellent and have received 2x merit awards for isiZulu from two universities respectively (UKZN and Wits).
I am an expert. I have coached learners in isIZulu at all levels. From Grade 1 to University postgraduate students and I have also taught adult beginners, from middle-aged to pensioners. I have also taken corporate groups of two to twelve learners.
“Love her - she’s so kind and supportive, and a subject expert.”
“Definitely YES - I liked how she engaged with Phillip, it is clear that she has little ones of her own. I also liked that Bongeka persisted in speaking to Phillip in Zulu. She clearly has a lot of patience. I loved how she read the story and even questioned whether the Zulu used in the book was correct, which showed me that she was reading with great comprehension. Bongeka went out of her way to pronounce the Zulu words loudly and clearly to Phillip and she even explained how words were created, e.g. nr 6 and the thumb. She has a very good command of both English and Zulu. I am very impressed. On Sunday, Phillip wanted to know when my "friend Bongeka" would be visiting again, as he really liked her.”
“Bongeka is an excellent tutor and Holly looks forward to every lesson. Her marks have also improved from getting D's to A's!”
“Bongeka is a very patient teacher and maintains a good pace of learning to enable us to absorb the content. She also explains things very well.”
“She is very intuitive in terms of picking up what gaps to close as well as has a great ability to know how to teach so that my child understands and can apply his learnings, making learning easier.”
