I am motivated to help students gain confidence and feel successful in all of their academic endeavors. This pushes me to tailor my instruction to meet their individual needs so that learning is meaningful.
Education
• I have a BA with a concentration in Psychology & Education. I have Master’s of Science and teaching certificates in Childhood Education, Early Childhood Education and Dual Language Education.

Math
I have 7 years of experience teaching math. I encourage deep understanding by pushing students to use higher order thinking skills and fostering mathematical reasoning. I like to break down concepts into concrete steps that are easy to understand.
Reading
I have expertise in teaching reading as well as providing reading intervention services. Sound recognition, decoding, fluency and reading comprehension are all vital skills needed in order for learners to be successful readers.
Writing
I am passionate about teaching students how to write, but most importantly, to love to write. I teach pre-writing skills such as organization and brainstorming. I then guide students so that they are able to communicate their thoughts on paper in a cohesive way.
Phonics
I use explicit phonics instruction as well as sight word recognition in order to facilitate reading. I teach skills of letter- sound recognition, blending, decoding and fluency.
